Question 1: Can personal items and valuables be brought into the facility?

We encourage residents and families to personalize their room. Items can be brought in such as, pictures, dressers, a favorite quilt, or a recliner as long as the room size/space allows. We discourage leaving valuables in the facility. The nursing home is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Some residents with varying degrees of dementia may not recognize the value of such items and may remove or misplace them.

Question 2: How should mail addressed?

Mail should be addressed directly to the resident and is distributed by the Activities Department. To observe a residents privacy, staff will gain authorization to open and read mail if requested.

Question 3: When are meals served and are special diets available?

Meals are served in 2 dining shifts and residents needing assistance are accommodated. Substitutes are available upon request and special dietary needs are addressed by the Dietician and Dietary Supervisor.

Question 4: Is transportation available for scheduled appointments?

The nursing home has a facility wheelchair van that can be used for transportation to and from physician/specialist appointments. In addition, "We Care" transportation company may be utilized for various outings and appointments.

Question 5: Does the facility provide an in-house doctor?

If needed, the facility provides house physicians to address the medical needs of the residents. Additional specialists are provided by the facility and make regular visits to residents. These include a podiatrist, ophthalmologist, and dentist.

Question 6: Where can we go for a family gathering?

Our Activity Directors can arrange for the private use of our Activity Room for family gatherings and special events. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion, just contact the facility Activity Director to reserve the room.
